Some level of condensation on your water softener is normal. It shouldn’t be too much as that might mean your unit has a leak. But, know that “sweat” is a symptom of housing your water softener in a warmer part of your house with less air flow like the garage or basement. The sweat or condensation is what happens when warm air hits the cold surface of your water softener. It produces moisture. Think of your water softener tank as a cold drink sitting outside on a hot July day. The more the warm air hits the cold surface, the more water beads up on the outside of the glass. The larger the difference in temperatures between the tank and the air, the more condensation appears.
