Why Harvard Cares About Reducing Sodium

College students are often unconcerned about their sodium intake. Harvard University believes that they should reduce sodium now as the long-term effect will benefit students because it will change their sodium perception and taste.  Harvard University Dining Services was able to reduce overall sodium levels by 30% across their menus by replacing their traditional salt with Diamond Crystal® Kosher Salt, which simply by its molecular construction, contains half the sodium per teaspoon as a traditional table salt.
