Ice is nice in beverages and ice rinks. But ice is not nearly so nice on driveways and sidewalks. Early Melt™ Ice Melter’s patented formulation actually helps to prevent ice from bonding. After a storm, it also works as a powerful de-icer, in temperatures to -5 °F / -21 °C.
Because it’s a moist granule, it won’t blow away as easily as dry products. So you use less. And when it comes to ice melters, both for the sake of the environment and your pocketbook, less is definitely more.
Apply Early Melt™ Ice Melter hours before a storm to help prevent ice from bonding to surfaces. Its distinctive green dye makes it easy to see where you’ve put it. It has earned the EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE) seal, because less sodium chloride released into the environment when used according to directions. Just as importantly, it’s approved by hard-working people who know the safest and easiest way to fight ice is before it forms.

Apply to surface area up to 6 hours before expected precipitation. Moisture from snow or rain will activate Early Melt™ ice melter. Apply 1/3 cup to 2/3 cups per square yard (approximately two-thirds the application rate of rock salt) using scoop, push fertilizer spreader or salt spreader, depending on air temperature. Winds over 20 mph may cause some product movement. Remove snow and slush after snowfall and spot-apply early melt™ ice melter to any ice areas as needed. Prompt removal of all slush and excess ice melter from pavement is recommended for good concrete maintenance.
